I saw Meghan and George again on their wedding day. A week before this warm summer day, we discussed about the timing and more concrete details of their wedding over Facetime. Meghan did all the talking (brides usually do) and George nodded in agreement in the background. Incidentally, they also found my website when they Googled (can’t believe I am using this word as a verb) wedding photographer Metro Detroit and wedding photographers detroit mi.
They chose to get married at The Masonic Temple in Detroit, one of remarkable historic venue in the Metro Detroit area. I have photographed several weddings in Detroit before. One that I can recall off the bat is Valerie & Michael’s Summer wedding at the Inn on Ferry Street.
She wanted to do two “first looks”. This replaces the tradition of seeing ones bride at the beginning of the ceremony. In my opinion, it’s an efficient process.
By doing this, they would be free of the somewhat mandatory bridal and family portraits even before the ceremony. Meghan wanted to do a first look with her father on the third floor lobby and another on the first floor main lobby.
